About Us
Our mission is to provide support to children, teens and families and facilitate healing of the spirit, mind and body to help them reach their fullest potential.
Our Vision
FosterHope’s vision is to help heal the effects of trauma and end the cycle of abuse, and poverty, by building on the strengths of children and families so they find safety, hope, and success in life.
Who We Serve
FosterHope serves a diverse population of youth ranging from infancy to adulthood between the ages of (0-24) and their families. We work with youth impacted by both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems; specializing in youth with complex trauma histories.
Where We Work
Our programs serve children and families in El Dorado, Placer, San Joaquin, Yolo and Sacramento Counties.
What We Do
As a California-licensed 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foster Family Agency (FFA), FosterHope Sacramento goes beyond traditional foster care by providing a comprehensive network of supportive services designed to help children, youth, and families truly thrive.
From Welcome Homes (Transitional Shelter Care Facilities) that offer immediate safety and stability, to visitation and family support services, as well as essential resources like clothing, food, and supplies, we meet the unique needs of every youth we serve. Through our Youth Trauma Response Team (YTRT), we meet youth where they are—offering compassionate guidance and support as they navigate the juvenile justice system. In addition, we provide a full continuum of foster care services, from Enhanced Care to Traditional Foster Care, along with innovative classes and experiences that open doors to opportunities youth may not otherwise have.
At FosterHope Sacramento, our goal is simple: to provide every child with stability, hope, and the tools they need to thrive.
In 2025, we celebrated 40 years of fostering hope! Take a look at how far we’ve come.

Our Values
Our core values—dignity, respect, compassion, humility, integrity, inspiration, empowerment, accountability, and excellence—reflect our approach to serving others and achieving desired outcomes.
We recognize that every child, person, family, and community have strength and value and should be viewed and treated as such. We understand that to build trust and identify those strengths, we must begin with humility and treat the people we serve with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances.
We must act with compassion, having an ability to care and empathize without judgment. We shall nurture, inspire, and empower our resource families and the professionals that serve them to foster success and positive outcomes for all.
Finally, we strive for excellence in everything we do. We are dedicated to the highest standards of integrity, client satisfaction, and accountability.
Equity Statement
FosterHope Sacramento is committed to ensuring an equitable and fair outcome for all children. FHS’s program staff and managers strive to increase their understanding of cultural differences and to develop competence in working with children and families with cultural backgrounds different from their own. Members and staff strive to understand the impact of racial and ethnic differences that may contribute to the disproportionate representation of children and families of color in the child welfare system.
FHS respects and supports the ethnic identity and cultural diversity of the children and families it serves and seeks to provide culturally relevant services and to prevent discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sexual identity, sexual orientation or disability in every aspect of service delivery.
